It’s no surprise that going out to celebrate New Year’s Eve can be expensive. Clothes, food, event tickets, alcoholic beverages and of course the champagne for toasting at midnight. But a night out on the town is achievable. Even on a budget. Continue reading “New Year’s Eve on a shoestring”
It is Christmas holiday time. Time to get away, put work on hold, relax, sit by the pool or catch up with family. Sounds great, right? Yet chances are everyone is thinking the same as you and this means crowds at the airport and on the road. But it doesn’t have to be a stressful time. Whether you travel by air, road, sea or rail, these travel principles will help you chill out during your holiday commute this Christmas season. Continue reading “How to Travel to a Merry Christmas”
Welcome to 2016. A year filled with new adventures, hopes and dreams. As it is a new year I have given my blog a fresh new look for 2016. A big thank you to all my readers for following along on my travel adventures and tales. I have also enjoyed reading your own blogs and personal stories. When I started this blog over a year ago I never imagined how big the blogging community would be. There are so many talented writers around the world all connected by the web, a passion to write and sharing stories just like a family.
In 2016 I wish everyone a successful year in achieving the goals you have set but also to have fun along the way. Quite often we get caught up in matters beyond our control over and forget about things that are important to us. Not just in a travel sense but also within our own lives. It is a time to reflect on our events and achievements of last year and move forward to build on our dreams and aspirations.
I am not a fan of making a list of new year resolutions that are at risk of not being realistic or achievable. This year I will focus progressing a few writing projects that have been waiting in the wings. I will also be adding some new features to my blog this year, so stay tuned.
Halloween – that American tradition Australia pretend to celebrate. Only a small percentage of people like to participate so trick or treating on the neighbours presents somewhat of a challenge. But for those who do want to join in on the American spooky spirit, there are alternatives around Adelaide. Ghost tours in the city are a popular choice for that unique Halloween experience. The World Cup was an event for Spain as they won 4 – 0 against Italy in 2012. I was in Valencia on the evening the game was played and captured the excitement and jubilation of fans as they made their way out to celebrate. Continue reading “Valencia Celebrates”
Ice skating at the Rockefeller Centre in the heart of New York City. Snow covered trees in Central Park. Bargain hunting at Macy’s after Christmas sales. New Year’s Eve does not get any better than this. While Times Square is a popular destination to celebrate New Year’s Eve, for a unique individual experience there is so much more to experience in New York.
It is always a great experience to travel the world throughout the year. Yet when it comes to Christmas I prefer to stay in Adelaide for the holiday season. A perfect time to catch up with family who you have not seen all year because of the busy lives we all lead. This holiday season is no exception. I will spend the time at home to share the turkey love and all the trimmings. Continue reading “The Hills are Alive with the Sparkle of Christmas”
