Mindfulness through your Travel Art Journal

Although international travel is still a future thought, domestic travel in most countries is still achievable. For those who want to record their travel memories but are not writers, you may consider documenting your journey in pictures, drawings or other creative designs.

Art journals not only allow you to relive your memories, they also provide a form of meditative relaxation to calm your mind. This is useful if you find it hard to sit and focus your thoughts in meditation for too long.

The mindful art of drawing or colouring in provides you with a practice of focusing on one picture at a time. Listen to the steady movement of the pencil as it glides back and forth across the page filling your picture with colour. Soon you will find yourself transfixed and caught in the moment of relaxation. Your mind will clear to find yourself enjoying the moment of creativity.
