Each Christmas it is almost a religion to check out the latest pantomime. This year it is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. While pantomimes are for all the family, sometimes the one liners are not always family appropriate.
This week I attended Goldilocks at the historic London Palladium theatre. However, it was not the Goldilocks we grew up with. Although there were three bears and a Goldilocks, the pantomime was set in a circus. It was a battle between good and evil. In true pantomime tradition; the evil character is booed each time he appeared on stage.
The pantomime includes various actors, TV stars, theatre performers etc whom come together and perform a selected pantomime story each year.
At Christmas time Londoners embrace a night out (or afternoon) at the theatre. Couples, families, friends and even singles enjoy seeing a panto. It is also great for travellers to experience some English Christmas theatre culture.
I have always wanted to see a Christmas pantomime, and on this trip to London I finally achieved this.
I would like to take this moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you for your continued support in reading my blog.
